Random VLS Drops: Terminator X - Juvenile Delinquintz

Fresh 320kbps rip
(I didn't scan the A-Side cause it has a huge Bart Simpson sticker over the label)
A1 Juvenile Delinquintz (Radio Version)
A2 Juvenile Delinquintz (Remix Radio Version)
A3 Juvenile Delinquintz (Remix Instrumental)
B1 Back To The Scene Of The Bass (LP Version)
B2 Back To The Scene Of The Bass (Remix Version)
B3 Back To The Scene Of The Bass (Remix Instrumental)

Here's another quick drop to go with the Terminator X piece from yesterday. Sorry that there's some crackles and pops on this one but it's not terrible, just a little worn.

Enjoy the video in HQ while downloading:

Random VLS Drops: Diamond D - What U Heard

Fresh rip at 320kbps
A1. What U Heard [Radio Edit]
A2. "*!*!" What U Heard [Original LP Version]
A3. I'm Outta Here (My Name Is John Doe)
B1. You Can't Front (...It Is Real) [Vocal]
B2. You Can't Front (...It Is Real) [Instrumental]
B3. I'm Outta Here (My Name Is John Doe) [Radio Edit]

This isn't only worth having for the ill cover art, but you also get a great B-Side, featuring Sadat X and Lord Finesse. Everything on this was produced by Diamond D, with Buckwild on the co production for "You Can't Front", Showbiz on "I'm Outta Here", and Lakim Shabazz on "What U Heard".
You know the shit is real, you can't front, jack.

Random VLS Drops: Percee P - Nowhere Near Simple

Another fresh 320kbps random vinyl rip for the fam
A1 Nowhere Near Simple(Clean Edit)
A2 Nowhere Near Simple(Street Mix)
A3 Nowhere Near Simple (Instr.)
B1 Don't Cum Strapped(Street Mix)
B2 Don't Cum Strapped(Instr.)

Preview:

Just adding on to the last post that Thomas V graciously blessed us with here. I just happened to have ripped this vinyl to mp3 about a week or two ago, and this seems as appropriate a time as ever to share it with the T.R.O.Y. fam and followers.
Percee P needs no introduction if you're a regular around here. I can't front, this record damn near blew my mind the first time I heard it on the Stretch and Bobbito show. Not just his lyrical miracles with the unorthodox rhyme flex, but finessing that line from Group Home into a dope hook is what always got me.
Enough blithering already. Download and enjoy this record.

Random VLS Drops - Hyperdermic Needlz (1995)

I'm going to be dropping these random vinyl rips to quench that extra thirst for more T.R.O.Y. material that we all get sometimes. Just on some bonus treat end of the night steez.

(fresh 320kbps vinyl rip, cell phone cam scan)
A1 Hyperdermic Needlz - Always (raw mix)
A2 Hyperdermic Needlz - Always (radio)
A3 Hyperdermic Needlz - Always (instrumental)
B1 Hyperdermic Needlz - Word Up (raw mix)
B2 Hyperdermic Needlz - Word Up (radio)
B3 Hyperdermic Needlz - Word Up (instrumental)

Previews:

This one is pretty nice. I'm partial to the b-side, "Word Up", because of the more mellow tone and the seemingly leisurely original flow that the second guy on the mic spits. And you can never go wrong with sampling Redman's quotable, "no matter who you are, you still catch a bullet scar." Don't sleep on "Always", though. It's dope, 'nuff said.

This was executive produced by Thirstin Howl III (legendary Lo Life skillionaire who was supposed to be working on an album with Sadat X in 2008 and they were recently seen in the studio together, peep the link on his name)and released on "Cook Rock Records". I believe this was their only release. I don't know who's who on these songs, but the record credits the writers as Napalm Bomb, Non DaScrip, and Breez, and was produced by Sonata.

Enjoy and expect a lot more of these ranging from known to unknown, but always dope.
And check the hyper links in the post. There's an article on the history of Lo Life and a great interview with Thirstin in there.

P.H.A. - VLS and Samples

P.H.A. - Don't Take Time b/w Absorbtion, I Don't Know(I Can't Say)

Not much is out there about this crew except for what's written on the record label. Lyrics by Granz,Wise Kabar, and Lord. Production by Omne. Co-produced and cuts by J.C. Lincoln. From discogs,it looks like they had a promo sometime before this and a joint in 1999.

"Don't Take Time" is the A side. Omne loops up an ill sample from "Here And Now" by The Headhunters. Rhymes are decent on this, too. More smooth, intelligent type ish. Beatwise, the B side,"Absorbtion" might be the gem here .I'm NOT positive, but it sounds like he sampled the same song,"Rite of Spring", that Large Pro used for "One + One" with Nas. Sounds like he put the note variations on the intro sample. But the piece that comes in at 00:54 seconds is what gives it replay value to me.

Released in 1997 on PHA Records
A1 Don't Take Time(street)
A2 Don't Take Time(radio)
A3 Don't Take Time(inst.)
B1 Absorbtion
B2 Absorbtion(inst.)
B3 I Don't Know(I Can't Say)

Download the VLS and everything else from this post here

EDITED 12/13/09: I didn't realize before but PHA's other single was posted here, if your interested.
And more with their involvement here. And also, they're apparently from Philly.

Dollar Bin Gem Pieces

While vinyl and beat diggers, like myself, have been known to sacrifice their food money to pay $100 for an obscure 1996 indy hip hop record, we still check the flea markets and dollar bins. And sometimes getting your hands dirty digging through these dollar bins can result in the unearthing of some fine rare rap shit. Here's a couple of gems I've found in the past year:

Reflexions - This Could Be The Day
I don't know much about this record or crew.Add any info you have in the comments section. Click here for a sample, and click here for the entire vls.

Survival Series 11355

Sorry to say, I don't have much info on this crew either. But I do remember enjoying this back when it came out. This is apparently the type of money this is fetching on the web, nowadays. Click here for a sample. Click here to download the entire Ep. Side A is a crew called Trybal-Men and side B is a crew called Jam. Entire Ep is dope!
