Boston Underground - Volume Three (1993-2003)
Bringing y'all volume 3 in my Boston series today. A couple notes. I've heard Akbar is from New York, Boston, and also Chicago. If anyone out there wants to clear that up for me I'd like to know. Also, 'Overdose' is from South Boston Va apparently. Other than that, I think all these cuts are in fact from Boston artists. I've done 8 of these Boston compilations. The later ones also have some obscure dopeness so make sure to check back. In the meantime, here's a link and a tracklist for volume 3.

hey man
ReplyDeletejust wondering if i can get vol 1 and 2 links??
i seached the site but dont seem to find
Akbar was born in New York, but he came to Chicago in the 80s. I don't know where the Boston rumor comes from, but it most likely has something to do with his appearance on Mr. Lif's classic "Live From The Middle East" concert album. That's the only link between Akbar and the city of Boston that I can think of, anyway.
ReplyDeleteAkbar is def not from Boston, but Roy is right... He did the Mr Lif Live from the Middle East and I think during the show he said he wanted to move to Boston. Maybe that is where it comes from.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have a few small corrections, as a Merrimack Valley resident:
Scientifik is from Lawrence, Krumb and X-Cal are from Lowell and Raw Produce is from Cambridge. Yes, I know people outside New England consider all of it Boston, just putting it out there...
@kaohtix: Here's part 2-
